At around 16h10 our Immediate Medical dispatch centre received a call from GB Med requesting assistance for a multidrowning in progress at Strand Beach.

2 swimmers were recovered and transported to hospital by Immediate Medical and GB Med, while a third was flown by the Air Mercy Helicopter (AMS) to Red Cross Children’s Hospital.

A fourth person is still missing and rescue crews are continuing to search the area.
